A few weeks ago, if you had told me I would be launching a music company, building a website, designing products, writing a blog, creating artwork, uploading videos, learning marketing, and troubleshooting enough technology to qualify for an honorary IT degree, I would have laughed.
Then I probably would have cried.
Then I would have laughed again.
What people see today is a website.
What they donāt see are the roots.
Iāve spent the last several weeks pouring myself into something that didnāt seem to be growing at all.
Every day I worked.
Every day I learned.
Every day I solved one problem only to discover three more waiting behind it.
Pages disappeared.
Templates routed themselves to the wrong places.
Apps refused to cooperate.
Links broke.
Buttons vanished.
Entire evenings were spent chasing issues that, in the end, were caused by a single setting hidden somewhere in the depths of the internet.
More than once, I found myself staring at a screen wondering if I had made any progress at all.
And then I thought about a tree.
When you plant a seed, nothing exciting happens at first.
There are no branches.
No leaves.
No shade.
No fruit.
No visible evidence that anything is happening.
Yet beneath the surface, something remarkable is taking place.
Roots are forming.
Quietly.
Patiently.
Out of sight.
The tree is growing long before anyone can see it.
In fact, the part nobody sees is often the most important part of all.
Without roots, there are no branches.
Without roots, there is no strength.
Without roots, the first storm wins.
I think life works the same way.
We live in a world that celebrates visible success.
People applaud the grand opening.
They celebrate the finished product.
They admire the accomplishment.
But very few people see the late nights.
The setbacks.
The doubts.
The mistakes.
The lessons.
The perseverance.
The roots.
What Iāve learned over these last few weeks is that growth doesnāt always look like growth.
Sometimes it looks like confusion.
Sometimes it looks like frustration.
Sometimes it looks like starting over.
Sometimes it looks like being one step away from giving up.
And sometimes it looks like faithfully continuing even when you canāt yet see the results.
The truth is, some of the most important things in life are happening during the seasons when it feels like nothing is happening at all.
Roots are being established.
Strength is being built.
Character is being formed.
Perspective is being gained.
And one day, what has been growing beneath the surface finally begins to appear above it.
People will see the tree.
They may never see the roots.
But the roots are what made the tree possible.
As I officially launch Amplified Imagination Studios, Iām grateful for every lesson, every challenge, every late night, every unexpected obstacle, and every person who encouraged me along the way.
Because now I understand something I didnāt fully understand before.
The part nobody sees is often the part that matters most.
And if youāre currently in a season where it feels like nothing is happening, donāt be too quick to judge your progress.
You may just be growing roots.
